Larry Bowden has over 20 years of experience in IBM helping customers exploit the opportunities provided by information technologies. He currently is Vice President, Portal and Lotus Products, Software Group, where he reports to Ambuj Goyal , General Manager, Lotus. He is responsible for the definition and execution of the human collaboration element of IBM’s on demand for e-business strategy. He leads marketing for all Lotus products and Workplace offerings, and also the WebSphere Portal product line where he is responsible for IBM’s portal strategy, marketing, partnerships, industry offerings and services.

Prior to taking on his current role, he was director for IBM Content Management products at the Silicon Valley Laboratory, where he directed a software development team distributed across several development sites. For the three years prior to this assignment, Larry was Director of Marketing for Data Management in Somers, New York, where he was primarily focused on launching IBM Business Intelligence, Document Management, and DB2 Universal Database initiatives.

Larry has held several IBM headquarters and line management positions, including Director of Multimedia in Somers, NY; Director of the Bethesda Programming Laboratory; Site Financial Officer and Business Development Director in Westlake, Texas; and Technical Engineering Manager of hardware for printing development in Boulder, Colorado.

Larry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and a Master of Business Administration, both from the University of Denver.
