To create a basic table

1. Put the document in Edit mode.

2. Click where you want the table to appear.

3. Choose Create - Table.

4. Click the basic table button (first button from left) in the "Table Type" section.

5. Specify the number of rows and columns in the "Table Size" section.


    Note You can specify the table width by clicking "Fit with margins," "Fit to window" or "Fixed width." See Table layout for more information.

6. Click OK.

To create a table within a table (nested table)

1. Put the document in Edit mode.

2. Place your cursor in a specific cell to add another table.

3. Choose Create - Table.

4. Choose the type of table to create; specify the number of rows and columns.


    Note You can specify the table width by clicking "Fit with margins," "Fit to window" or "Fixed width." See Table layout for more information.

5. Click OK.

To change a basic table into a tabbed or animated table

If you want to change the table you made into a different type of table, for example a basic table into a tabbed table or vice versa, you can do so without losing your data.

1. Put the document in Edit mode.

2. Place your cursor in the table.

3. Choose Table - Table Properties.

4. Click the Table Rows tab (sixth tab from left), and choose how to display your rows.

5. Refer to the Help topics about the specific type of table for formatting and customizing.
