Global Information Infrastructure
- initiated in March 1994 by Vice President Gore
with the goals:
- to bring more democracy worldwide;
- to help economic growth and increased global trade among the nations
- to decrease the difference between developed and developing countries
- in a G-7 meeting, February 1995, 11 projects were accepted
some of these projects are:
- providing more access to global networks for small and medium-sized business for export
- harmonization of global standards to connect various parts of the information superhighway
- creation of digitized libraries for global public access. |
