AD308 Leveraging Cooperative Portlet Technology (web link)
Speakers: Amber Roy-Chowdhury, Peter Blinstrubas
SW 6 - Wednesday 11:15am - 12:15pm

This session will overview the technical and business advantages of deploying cooperative portlet technology in your Portal and Workplace solutions. Cooperative portlets providethe ability to extend use of the portal infrastructure to enable inter - portlet communication across enteprise applications, including Lotus Domino, SAP, PeopleSoft, Siebel and and more. We'll discuss the concepts underlying Cooperative Portlets and outline the broker-based architecture supporting it. We'll include technical detail outlining portlet preparation options, use of pre-configured by creating "wires" connecting portlets and data, or triggered by the end-user at runtime through dynamically generated visual controls, a process called "Click-to-Action". We'll discuss the concepts underlying Cooperative Portlets and outline the broker-based architecture supporting it. We'll also discuss the developer's role in enabling this function for portlets using IBM APIs or JSR-168 APIs and future extensions of this technology. Live demos will be used to illustrate the concepts and capabilities.**
