In a global economy, managers of today are challenged not only to set strategy, develop organizations, lead people and control performance in a domestic context , but also to understand and lead within a more complex global and multicultural context.
This course will present core issues of multicultural and multinational management. It assists students to recognize the challenges and opportunities presented by global markets, and consider how to implement a global strategy by means of organizational design, human resources management and leadership development.
The course will help students develop an ability to lead across cultures. Students will conduct an in-depth study of other countries, its culture, and values that have impact on business behavior. Students will learn how to prepare themselves for an international assignment, identifying areas of potential cultural conflict, and proposing recommendations for meeting challenges and demonstrating leadership.
